Many trainees tell us that they enjoyed the relaxed relationship with one another – fair and solitary team work, with trainers too, characterizes the working environment at Allianz.

Andrea Scharl shares her professional experiences…

During my last year at Middle-School (Realschule) in 2003/2004 I started looking for interesting apprenticeship opportunities and found an advert of Allianz in one of my magazines. I applied in total for 8 positions in companies within the financial and medial sector and Allianz was the first one that responded and invited me for an applicant’s day, which I really enjoyed. The same day I got an offer from Allianz which I directly accepted although I got three other offers from other companies as well. The 2,5 years apprenticeship were probably the best years and I never regretted that I took the offer of Allianz.

To start with, I was in the HR development sub-division where, amongst other things, further training seminars are organized for the employees in Germany. What I really enjoyed: I was soon given my own little area of responsibility there. I processed employees’ orders for web-based training sessions; these are CDs on a whole range of topics which you can use to learn independently from your PC.

Another assignment I had was at Allianz Gesellschaft für Informationssysteme (currently: AMOS), where all the computer technology for the whole of Allianz, e.g. the mainframe computers, is kept up and running. They actually trusted me enough to let me manage a secretarial office on my own for three months – and I managed it!

In every department, there was something that I liked and something new that I could learn. But the highlight for me was a business trip to Düsseldorf. My first ever flight was for Allianz! I helped at an Allianz shareholder meeting there and got to meet Board members and journalists close up!

Since 2011 I am one of the Talent Management Key Account Managers responsible for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Turkey and the Finance Companies (like AIM etc.) with regular contact to the Holding Board members and international colleagues in the OEs.

I am also responsible for the Talent Management of the Life & Health function globally, Success Factor improvements in Talent Management and the Talent Management Training and Certification for AZ Group.

What happened next?

After the end of the apprenticeship I started as a team assistant in the local HR department of AZ SE and supported Business Partners in their daily business. Besides organizing the Welcome Meetings/ Welcome Days I got involved in International Assignment topics and partially Performance Management.

Many trainees tell us that they enjoyed the relaxed relationship with one another – fair and solitary team work, with trainers too, characterizes the working environment at Allianz.

You will discover an Allianz-wide network to assist you in your training course. Become a part of it! Our trainers are there for you and for your training group.
